Great Day Out

My wife and I went to visit her brother today in Ipswich, Qld.

We knew it was going to be a hot day so we got a 7:00 o'clock start to try and beat some of the heat but it was already hot and just kept getting hotter.

Left Ipswich at about 11:30 and headed to Laidley, Qld to our favorite cafe, Eagle Rock Cafe, great food at a great price and ambiance.

Finished lunch had a short walk around and took some photos of some of the older buildings then geared up for the ride home up the hill.

Everything was hot. The seat was hot, the wind was hot, the road was hot but the KLR went like a train.

P.S. I almost forgot but to get to Laidley from Ipswich we came via the old Cobb & Co scenic route. Nice ride that way.

Seriously questioning my sanity right about now.

You'll see the weather warning below and guess who's decided to ride to the Qld Garden Expo leaving Toowoomba around five thirty in the morning.

Last time I went to the North Coast it was record heat wave temps of thirty - nine degrees.

I can't take a trick and I wish I'd have ticked the heated grips option for the KLR.

If I didn't really really want to go I'd fold and stay home.

All I can say is it better be bloody awesome tomorrow.
